My Probate and Estate Administration Practice

I handle all matters related to the settlement of an estate in the probate courts, working with executors, administrators, personal representatives and heirs. I will file all the documentation required to complete the probate process and will represent you in all hearings or proceedings during the process. Specifically, I will help you:

  • Complete an accounting/inventory of the assets of the estate
  • Obtain valuations of property, when necessary
  • Ensure the payment of all final debts and taxes of the estate
  • Oversee the orderly distribution of estate property in accordance with the terms of the will

I will take responsibility for anything that needs to be done to complete the process, from picking up personal effects at the hospital after the death of loved one, to notifying creditors, to auctioning off or selling property to facilitate the settlement of the estate. I can handle estates that have significant debt, where there is little to no property left for the heirs.

I will also help you resolve any disputes that arise during the probate process, including will contests, concerns about waste or mismanagement of the estate, or allegations of breach of fiduciary duty by an administrator or executor.

If you have a loved one who lacks the capacity to manage his or her legal or financial affairs, I can also help you petition the probate court to have a conservatorship or guardianship established. These processes confer legal authority to you or a third party, with a fiduciary obligation to act in the best interests of the property owner.
